Bouviers
| We have
always tried to find the best dog available,
when we search for a breeding animal.
Bouviers are wonderful dogs to have, if you
have a strong leadership personality, are
willing to obedience train your dog, and are
willing to deal with the grooming issues.
They are loyal to the death. They are
utterly fearless when it comes to defending
their families. There has never been a
documented case of intruders staying in a
home where a bouvier is on watch. Nor do I
know of any case where there is an
unprovoked attack by a bouvier on humans.
That is not to say that a Bouvier will not
bite a stranger. They will and do if they
interpret that person as a threat to their
owner or family. A Bouvier will never
tolerate harsh treatment or abuse. They are
too big, too strong and too intelligent to
put up with it. |

- Did you
know the Bouvier's canines are the same
size as a bear's canine teeth?
- Did you
know a Bouvier can bite through a Kevlar
sleeve (been done many times and not by
Rottweilers).
- Did you
know in bite work a Bouvier can hit the
guy in the "funny protective" suit and
knock him 20 feet through the air?
- Did you
know your Bouvier considers you and your
children his pack, so you need to thread
lightly if you think you are going to
discipline one of his or her "babies".
- Did you
know, if properly trained and
socialized, the Bouvier will be loyal,
steadfast, faithful and true to the
death?
They are
all of these things and more.....

SunValleys Sampson
"Binkie"
|
|
Ch.Chantal's Remington Steele x
Ch.SunValley'sNickNack |
Binkie acquired his nickname
because we got him as a puppy
and he slobbered on his rawhide
like a pacifier for months. We
purchased him from Fran Santella
in Pennsylvania at the SunValley
Kennels. Fran has been breeding
Bouviers since the early 60's
with tremendous success. She
has been a loyal and faithful
advocate of the breed. Binkie
has been perfect for our
family. He is a large dark dark
Brindle. His eyes are certified,
his heart, hips and health is
excellent, and I assure anyone
who asks he keeps the predators
off the farm. We don't have to
worry about mountain lions,
bobcats, coyotes and such. We
have Binkie and we have seen him
in action.
Binkie is three and we
are expecting his first litter
this summer. We are not
indiscriminate breeders, nor do
we stand our male dogs to
outside bitches.

Sophia
"Sophie"
|
|
Ch.Vanleighofs California Heat x
Ch. Brassrings Merry-Go-Round |
Sophia is a two and a half year
old nearly black brindle female bouv out of a
lovely line bred Vanleighofs
bred bitch. Her sire is the
noted show dog Vanleighofs
California heat. He was placed
seventh in the nation a few
years back. He is quite lovely
in the show ring.
Sophia is my younger son's
dog. She is so bonded to him it
is scary. She loves and mothers
that kid to distraction. (he's
14 but he is her baby).
Sophia is agile and
strong as a bull. She is in
obedience training right now and
we are leaning toward agility
with her.

Sunvalley's
Sorah
"Sorah"
|
|
Ch.
SunValley's Fabulous Fusto x
Ch. SunValley's Ballerina Bella |
|
|
Sorah is the family clown, at
two years old she is finally
starting to realize she is an
adult and settling down.
She is a lovely fawn and
the smallest bouvier in the
family (80 lbs). Both of her
parents are out of imported
Belgium working dog lines. She
is line bred fawn on both sides
so we are hopeful the cross with
Binkie will produce some fawns.
She has been in
obedience training and done
very well.
This little dog has been so
athletic, she can jump straight
up eight feet. I had the have
the fence line raised two feet
in the yard they have (one half
acre).
